Remember Depot Wiesenplatz

The Remember Depot Wiesenplatz geocache (GC7PNK0) sits inside a drain grate, on a pavement thousands of people walk over every day without suspecting a thing. A tiny PETling is lodged in the grate itself: nothing to unscrew, nothing to take apart, you only have to watch where you put your feet. The camouflage fools most searchers, and more than one tells of inspecting the wrong object before something else caught their eye.

A cache called Depot Wiesenplatz (GC3T4WW) had been placed in the neighbourhood in 2012, before being archived at the end of 2015, its hiding place destroyed by muggles. Four years later don pipolino, a geocacher known for his urban caches, published this one under the same name, preceded by a "Remember".

The depot itself is still standing: opened on 1 October 1907, ravaged in 2004 by a fire that took several historic trams with it, then rebuilt between 2009 and 2011 under an undulating green roof named "Wiesenteppich". The cache became geocache of the week in November 2025.
