The Geocache geocache (GC40) is the oldest cache still loggable in continental Europe, hidden on 7 July 2000 by Pierre Cao in the province of Namur, in Belgium. It is one of the essential stops of European geocaching.
Only six caches hidden in 2000 are still active in Europe. This one owes its longevity to a chain of successors: handed over to Speerpunt in 2003, who maintained it for thirteen years, then to Grokky in 2016 — with Speerpunt still lending a hand.
