The L'aiguille du Midi geocache (GC1Y014) was hidden by Vilcanota in the Mont Blanc massif, above Chamonix. The needle peaks at 3,842 metres and the cable car drops visitors at 3,777 metres: it is one of the few very high altitude French geocaches that requires no mountaineering skills at all. Geocachers are immediately met with thin air and often freezing temperatures, turning a simple tourist visit into a striking expedition into a hostile, mineral world.
An extraordinary viewpoint takes in the summit of Mont Blanc and the Mer de Glace — a literally dizzying adventure that marks a player's life!
