The Dragon's Treasure #0001 geocache (GC8KC6K) was published on 2 February 2020 in the north of the province of Toledo, in Spain. It is the first of a Geo Art of 1,010 caches which, plotted on a map, draw a treasure map guarded by a dragon. The Spaniard Lucas Herraiz García - Picarax as his geocaching name goes - worked on it for months, with the help of the team behind the Brunete4Geo mega-event. Guinness World Records certified the whole thing on 31 March 2020 as the largest geoart in the world, a certification that fell in the middle of the Covid lockdown, when nobody could go and walk it.
The caches are sown along service roads running beside the A-5, the A-40, the A-42 and the CM-41, out on the plain. Dirt tracks and streams that are sometimes impassable in the wet season: the owner recommends studying the route before setting off and advises against going after rain. The description of cache #0001 serves as the manual for the whole series.
The rest lies in the owner's own formula: the dragon shows you the way to the treasure. These are mystery caches, and the published coordinates are those of the drawing, not those of the boxes.
