The Das Unten - Cache Room geocache (GCJD8G) has been hidden in Lower Saxony by Cachathon since May 2004, and its principle turns the usual rule of swapping items on its head: here, you only bring bulky things. Leave the trinkets at home.
It is built around a treasure room of several cubic metres, inside which a “normal” cache is hidden holding the logbook and the small items. The rest — the big pieces — simply stands around the room. One detail worth knowing before choosing what to leave: it can rain from the ceiling, and the owner asks that only water-resistant items be brought.
It can also be done at night, with white fir needles marking the path and yellow ones the possible stations. More than 2,200 finds.
