The Valley of the Kings geocache (GC1956A) is an earthcache placed by marzcz in February 2008 in the Valley of the Kings, on the west bank of the Nile, opposite Luxor. It is one of the most visited earthcaches in Egypt.
Like any earthcache, it hides no box: validation comes from observing the ground. The site offers plenty to observe — for nearly five centuries, from the 16th to the 11th century BC, the pharaohs and nobles of the New Kingdom had tombs cut into the rock here, across two valleys, east and west. It has been one of the most excavated places in the world since the end of the 18th century.
