The Mission 2: Club Suave geocache (GCAFC) was hidden on 31 May 2001 on Sauvie Island, in Oregon (USA). It is the second in a series of caches devised by 20th Century Fox to launch Tim Burton's Planet of the Apes: fourteen caches scattered around the world that summer, each holding a genuine prop from the film (Markwell listed them all).

The coordinates lead to the Wapato Access Greenway, a park on the western flank of the island. The cache page, written in the secret-agent jargon of the operation, gives the instructions: if you come by water, moor your boat and the walk will be short; on foot, allow thirty to forty-five minutes. The park does indeed have two entrances, the Hadley's Landing dock on the channel side and a small car park on Sauvie Island Road, joined by a three-kilometre loop around the lake.

The ammo can only lasted two months. On 2 July 2001, an Oregon team found it and reported that every written page of the logbook had been torn out. Two weeks later, another searcher spent an hour and a half on site without seeing a thing. On 30 July, the projectAPE account archived the listing with a note in the film's spirit: the cache has been removed by the authorities, the area is unstable, no further Project A.P.E. activity is recommended in the vicinity.

Fancy a warm-up for the real quiz? Here is a question:

Who was the first person to find this cache? (first and last name)

The answer : Dave Ulmer
