The Wein & Spiele III: Der Klempner kommt geocache (GC553NJ) was placed on 4 February 2016 in a German vineyard by CacheWerkstatt (the joint workshop of two geocaching teams: die wilden crossies and Fogg&Co.). It is the third geocache in a series of five, all built around video game classics.
On site, a sign about grape varieties is not just a sign: it opens, revealing a hand-built console, a Game Boy lookalike. Saving the princess is not enough here; the game continues outside, at a run through the vines, before you come back to earn the logbook. Geocaching HQ told the story of the object in May 2023 in its article "Lackeys' favourite caches", where nykkole singles it out for "the blend of craft and technology, and the combination of a video game with real-life action".
