The Canada's First Geocache geocache (GCBBA) is the first geocache hidden in Canada, on 28 June 2000 by ken kane, about thirty minutes from Halifax in Nova Scotia.
Its GC code tells of an oddity from the early days of the game: it was originally called GC41, and was renumbered GCBBA when the caches hosted on the geocaching.com administration account were redistributed to individual accounts.
The owner deliberately placed it near a major route, Highway 103, to make it accessible to travellers: a few minutes' walk from the road, and a large ammo can at the end of it. A geostone engraved with its coordinates and its history was unveiled on 24 June 2006 at an event on Graves Island. If you go, ken kane's advice still stands: bring bug spray.
