The Points Géodésiques du Québec geocache (GC7FA4) belongs to an extinct species: the locationless cache. The published coordinates point to no particular place — it is up to the geocacher to go and find the object described, wherever it may be.
Here, the object is a geodetic marker on Quebec soil: a brass cap at ground level, usually flagged by an orange sign planted nearby bearing the number of the point and the distance to it. To log a find, you have to record that number, the coordinates you measured and the elevation.
Placed in August 2002 by Sverdrup2, it is the oldest locationless in Quebec. Fun fact: the creator of geocoin.io long believed it was the oldest in the world, because of a bad reference found on the internet. It earned him a fair amount of teasing!
